A9 northbound closed for two and half hours after RTA
Police Scotland have confirmed that a motorist was hospitalised by last night’s road traffic accident on the A9 near Newtonmore.
Three fire crews were sent to the scene after the one-vehicle crash, with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service despatching the brigades from Kingussie, Newtonmore and even Pitlochry, but they were all recalled within the hour of the incident, which happened at Etteridge near Raliabeag.
The northbound carriageway was closed as the incident was dealt with and traffic had to divert for two hours or so.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed this morning: "Around 6.15pm on Sunday, 12 May, 2024 we were called to a single vehicle crash on the A9 near Etteridge.
"Emergency services attended and the female driver was taken to hospital.
"The road was closed to allow for recovery and fully reopened around 8.25pm.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
