Woman airlifted to hospital after road accident near Carrbridge
A woman has been airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness after an accident on the B9007 Duthil-Ferness road earlier this afternoon.
Firefighters had to free the female passenger in her 60s from the upturned Honda CRV after it came off the road. The driver, also in her 60s, travelling in the car was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Firefighters from Grantown, Aviemore and Carrbridge attended the scene of the accident which occurred at around 12.40pm.
The road was closed whilst 999 services were in attendance but re-opened at around 2.40pm.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "There were two females believed to be in their 60s travelling in the car. One of the women was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with minor injuries."
There were no other vehicles involved in the accident which occurred near to the Cairngorms National Park boundary marker on the rural road.
