Win tickets for Skerryvore in Tomintoul next weekend!
Top Scottish folk-rock band ‘Skerryvore’ are making their first appearance in the highest village in the Highlands this Saturday - and we have tickets up for grabs.
The band, now based in Glasgow but who formed on the Western Isle of Tiree in 2005, tour extensively in Scotland, throughout Europe, and make their annual return to the US this August.
Skerryvore’s concert in Tomintoul will be one of the first opportunities to hear some of the tracks from their forthcoming new album, their fifth, due for release later this year.
“We’ll be trying out a few of the new ones,” said Alec Daglish, “along with a mix of favourites from the earlier albums. It will be a great night.”
Having performed in over 25 countries worldwide, Skerryvore are looking forward to making this event a “belter” with their driving sound of bagpipes, accordions and fiddle, fused brilliantly with kicking rhythms of guitar, bass and drums.
The show takes place at the Richmond Memorial Hall. Doors open at 8.30pm, with the licenced, late night event kicking off at 9pm.
Remaining tickets, priced at £15, are available online from www.skerryvore.com, from Sound&Vision, Elgin or from the Tomintoul and Glenlivet Development Trust on 01807 580 358.
For your chance to win four tickets we have up for grabs email us at editorial@sbherald.co.uk by this Friday (June 13) noon with a question you would like to ask the band.
