After two increasingly successful decades contributing a vital boost to the strath's economy, the spectacular ‘Thunder in the Glens’ event was silenced last year by the Covid pandemic.

Rally co-ordinator George McGuire, of the Dunedin Chapter, has now posted: “At the moment the short answer is that we don’t know and are monitoring the situation very closely.

“We appreciate that many people have to plan well in advance and make plans to attend. As organisers we are keen to give as much time as possible to allow current restrictions run their course before making any decision.

“It has therefore been decided to wait until the end of March when we will assess the situation then and make a decision on whether or not Thunder in the Glens goes ahead this year.

“We appreciate your patience in these challenging and difficult times. Hopefully we will all gather together again soon.”
