Aviemore firefighters thank employers and families for part in epic wildfire fight
Aviemore Community Fire Station have said it for so many with thanks to the heroes who banded together to fight this week’s record wildfires.
In a post a few hours ago, they said it all:
“Today, we wholeheartedly recognise the employers and families 'behind the pager' who support our on-call firefighters to carry out their vital role and keep our communities safe
“We extend our deepest thanks to all the employers who support their on-call firefighters to respond to emergency incidents throughout the year.
“Your willingness to release your employees at short notice plays a crucial role in protecting lives, property and the environment, especially during exceptionally demanding periods, such as the wildfires over the weekend and into this week.
“A special thank you goes out to BT, Hydrasun and Quarch Technology, whose support on Monday enabled their on-call employees to respond and be away from their primary employment. Your backing makes a real difference.
“We also wish to recognise the families and loved ones of our on-call firefighters. Their patience and understanding throughout the year and particularly during times of long and unpredictable call-outs, like the 16-hour shift our crew completed on Monday, are truly invaluable.
“Thank you all
“Your support does not go unnoticed.”
