Badenoch gets back on its Bikeathon!

It was a four-way 'tie' at yesterday's Kingussie Bikeathon 2022, with honours shared between the Badenoch capital and visitors from Tain.

But all those taking part actually knew it was no race, just good healthy fun in completing an attractive course for a good cause: the local high school funds.

This year's revived traditional course, from Kingussie to Newtonmore and Laggan and back again, attracted more than 200 entries and raised something around £3000 for High School Funds.

The conditions weren't the best, although some riders found they preferred the cooler temperatures and the helpful breeze on the way 'home' and they all praised the organisers, Cycle Friendly Kingussie, for the high level of support stations along the 25-mile route.

There will be pictures and a report in Thursday's Strathy.
