We've mooooooved, say Kingussie herd!

Herd the news?
Herd the news?

After all the excitement of attracting two fire crews to their flooded field, the Heilan’ coos of Kingussie have been moved to higher ground.

But their owner, Ruairidh Ormiston told the “Strathy”: “They were never at risk and somebody yesterday maybe over-reacted. The herd was due to be moved on anyway to fresh grass and that’s really why we’ve put them up nearer to Ruthven Barracks.”

Crews from both Kingussie and Aviemore turned out to the herd’s home by the new Ruthven Bridge just outside the Badenoch capital yesterday morning (Monday, November 17).

They soon discovered they weren’t needed as the beasts were perfectly happy on their little island of grass above the water.

“The animals will be fine with their new grass by the barracks,” assured Mr Ormiston.

Coo, look at all that water yesterday!
