There could be delays due to the repair of Advie Bridge

Essential repairs to the A95 Advie Bridge are due to get underway from next Monday (July 14) and last for three weeks.

The works on the bridge located 10 miles north of Grantown on the Aviemore-Keith road will cost £25,000

Mr Andy Thompson, contractor BEAR Scotland’s North East Unit spokesman, said: "This essential bridge maintenance project will help to ensure that this section of the A95 trunk road will continue to operate safely and effectively for all road users.

"The works will involve improvements to the bridge abutment drainage with new weep pipes installed to the underside of the bridge and re-pointing of existing masonry taking place.

"Works will be done using an underbridge inspection vehicle and temporary access scaffold.

"For the safety of the workforce and public, traffic lights will be in place for the duration of these works allowing alternate single lane flow.

"We have planned these works to minimise disruption, however, some delays are possible."

Motorists are being encouraged to allow extra time if using the route. The works are being carried out by John Langley Construction on behalf of BEAR Scotland Ltd.
