There will be a convoy system in place near Advie

A convoy system is to be in place betwween Mains of Advie and Tormore on the A95 as part of £100,000 resurfacing improvements.

The works on the 600 metres stretch will start next Wednesday (February 12) and last for three days and will involve the patching and resurfacing of both lanes.

Due to narrow road widths, the works will be carried out using temporary traffic lights and a convoy system with a 10mph speed limit between 8am and 5pm to ensure the safety of the workforce and motorists.

Mr Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s North East Unit Representative said: "The A95 is vital link for the local community, as well as the distillery industry, and this improvement programme will ensure that the surface of the road continues to operate safely for many years to come.

"Although we are doing what we can to limit disruption to motorists, some delays might be experienced. We encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time when travelling."
