Badenoch and Strathspey get Very High wildfire warning





The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service's latest wildfire warnings have been extended and tonight would be a very good night to take heed, campers are being told.

"𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗬 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛 Wildfire Warning extended until Saturday, 10 June," the service posted this evening.

"The current lack of rain, hot sunshine, warm air temperatures, and low wind is the perfect combination for a wildfire.

"Please follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and avoid open fires in the countryside."

The warning follows last night's ring of camp fires around the shore of Loch Morlich in Glenmore, yards from notices calling for no camp fires or barbecues to be lit.
