Recovery vehicle and car involved in A9 crash by Glentruim
The A9 remains closed in both directions after an accident on the A9 by Glentruim this evening.
A car and a recovery vehicle were involved in the crash which occurred at around 6.30pm at the junction south of Newtonmore.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving a car and a recovery vehicle on the A9 at the Glentruim junction at around 6.30pm this evening.
“Emergency services are in attendance and the A9 is closed between Ralia and Dalwhinnie with diversions in placing using the A86 and the A889.
“Drivers are asked to avoid the area.”
Traffic Scotland is cautioning motorists to expect delays.
Their update states: “The A9 Glentruim is currently restricted in both directions due to a road traffic accident.
“Motorists are advised to use caution on approach.”
Police and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Services have been contacted.
There is a report on local social media that the road is now open southbound.
