UPDATE: Mast operator reveals reason why broadband customers in Grantown left without service
An unpaid account is the reason behind customers in Strathspey losing their broadband services.
TransmitAIR customers have been without a connection for a week now because of the dispute between ISP TransmitAIR and mast server Cellnex UK.

Now the telecoms infrastructure company has revealed to the Strathy why they have terminated their contact with the internet service provider.
A Cellnex UK spokesperson said: “We are aware that TransmitAIR has notified their customers that they are no longer able to provide service to them.
“We have been working with TransmitAIR to resolve an unpaid account since May 2024 but TransmitAIR and their representatives have unfortunately not been consistently engaged or cooperative during this time.
“We have tried to reach a resolution through several means including a payment plan to clear the debt and avoid service shutdown.
“We have continued to liaise with TransmitAIR but they have been unable to provide evidential assurances that the debt will be cleared or that future payments will be made.”
“Cellnex UK is a wholesale infrastructure provider and does not provide services to end users - this is the responsibility of the service provider, TransmitAIR.
“We are committed to supporting our service provider customers to deliver connectivity to citizens and businesses across rural Scotland.”
TransmitAir was contacted earlier today for a response but has yet to comment.
