Two women charged with attempted murder have appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court

Two women have been charged with attempted murder at Inverness Sheriff Court.

Erin Birse (23) and Gemma Robertson (39) both appeared in private yesterday and made no plea.

They are both from Inverness and have been remanded in custody until further hearings.

Alongside attempted murder, Birse has been charged with assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, four charges of robbery, theft and attempted theft.

Robertson was charged with attempted murder, assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement, as well as four charges of robbery, theft, attempted theft and a drugs offence.

Both will appear at Inverness Sheriff Court again within the next eight days.

Prior to their court appearance, a Police Scotland spokesman said: “Two women - aged 23 and 39 - have been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of a 35-year-old man in the Raigmore area and four reports of robbery across Inverness, which took place overnight between Tuesday, June 24, and Wednesday, June 25, 2025.”
