Two people have been taken to hospital after their convertible car ended up beneath a truck on the A9 Inverness-Perth road this morning.

The accident occurred south of Drumochter, in an area known as Wade Bridge, at around 9.45am.

The Mazda MX5 they were travelling in became trapped under an RAF transporter vehicle.

The female driver of the Mazda, a lady in her 50s, was taken to Ninewells hospital in Dundee by air ambulance.

Her condition is not thought to be life threatening.

Her husband was described as walking wounded and was taken by road ambulance for a check-up.
