Two in hospital after four vehicle crash that closed A9 in both directions at Ballinluig
Two people were taken to hospital following the morning crash that closed the A9 in both directions near Ballinluig.
One of the vehicles was an HGV according to Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at noon when two of their five units initially called out were still one scene.
The Perth based heavy rescue unit was recalled after setting off for scene.
The Scottish |Ambulance Services said: “We attended a call today at 0818 hours to attend a road traffic collision on the A9, south of Ballinluig. We dispatched three ambulances and a paramedic response unit to the scene. We transported two patients to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.”
Police Scotland advised motorists to avoid the area if necessary, but diversions were set up.
Northbound trafvia the A822 at Dunkeld, then the A826 and A827 before re-joining the A9 north of Ballinluig.
Southbound traffic will be diverted on the A924 to Bridge of Cally, A93 to Blairgowrie and then A923 to Dunkeld before re-joining the A9.
Traffic Scotland posted: “The A9 is closed in both directions between Ballinluig and Dunkeld due to a road traffic incident. Motorists are advised to use an alternative route at this time and should be aware of possible delays to journey times.”
The collision was at the House of Bruar mail order site near Ballinluig, and not at the House of Bruar shops and restaurant centre which is further north.
