Roads team ready for temperature changes in Badenoch and Strathspey

With temperatures so volatile the Highland Council’s roads teams are having to be ready for anything.

Today’s roads conditions report for Badenoch and Strathspey, issued at 6.36am, confirmed treatment was continuing on primary and secondary routes.

“Work is being done to combat the dip in temperatures mid-morning.

“Temperatures are higher than forecast but there is a lot of overnight surface water across the network, while no known issues have been reported.”

On the Inverness side, a mild morning was reported with wet roads, but temperatures looking to drop in daylight: “Covering rural routes. No known issues.”

On neighbouring Nairn routes, primary and secondary routes were being treated to combat the dip in temperatures mid-morning.

Again, temperatures were proving higher than forecast but there was a lot of overnight surface water across the network.

No schools had been forced by the weather to close today.
