Badenoch and Strathspey's thunderously good weekend
Word on the street in Aviemore yesterday (Sunday, August 25) was that this year's Thunder in the Glens Rally was far and away the best yet, with more than 4,000 bikes taking part in Saturday's unforgettable ride-out across the strath.
Of course, we couldn't be too sure because we could hardly hear what we were being told through the thunder in the glens!
Sunday's atmosphere was positively Mediterranean as everyone chilled out as never before.
Only now (Monday) is the roar fading as the chapters "close" for another year.
It's obvious that a great deal of money has been raised for local charities, with the the Harley-Davidson riders and their friends organising so many events for a range of causes over the long weekend.
Pubs, accommodation providers, retailers were all reporting an astonishingly successful rally this year.
"I've worked through many TITGs in my time but nothing like this on," said local cab driver Stewart Harvie, of Harv's. "It's always good, but this year has been phenomenal. Brilliant."
We'll have more detailed reports and more pictures as they come in and the dust settles...
