Harleys will be heading for Aviemore soon!

Macdonald Aviemore Resort is at full throttle as it prepares to welcome one of the largest motorcycle events of its kind in Europe.

Established in 1997 and organised by the Dunedin Chapter, TITG is believed to be the largest Harley-Davidson, H.O.G. Chapter rally in the UK and Europe and welcomes members of the public as well as motorcycle club members.

From an initial turnout of 200 participants in its founding year, thousands now take part in the annual event, which provides a significant boost to the local economy and fundraises for a range of organisations each year.

Throughout this year’s event it’s clear that, as ever, Macdonald Aviemore Resort will again be a hive of activity including a range of live music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, street food, plus beer, wine and gin tents and a brand-new kids’ zone featuring face painting, a bouncy castle and more.

Commenting on the Resort’s relationship with the mega-event, Macdonald Aviemore Resort managing director Paul Bayliss MBE said: “Our partnership with the Dunedin Chapter stretches back more than a decade and we are delighted to be one of the main sponsors of this important annual event which is a significant fixture on the calendar for the whole town.”

Rally co-ordinator George McGuire added: “Dunedin Chapter are delighted to be returning to Aviemore for the 23rd Thunder in the Glens rally.

“The partnership fostered, over the years, with Macdonald Aviemore Resort is a key factor in the rally’s ongoing success and is sure to be another sell-out.”
