The 2022 Highland Business Women Awards is making an in-person return this year and the application process opens this Sunday.

Due to the pandemic, the event has taken place virtually over the last two years, but now the excitement is rising as the much-loved award ceremony will be hosted by Nicky Marr at the Kingsmills Hotel on August 25.

President of Highland Business Women (HBW), Donna Smith, is looking forward to having everyone back together for an evening of celebration of women in business across the Highlands.

She said: “It is super exciting to be back face-to-face.

“It’s been great the last two years to have been able to have the awards virtually but it will be so good to celebrate all together again.”

With categories for members and non-members of HBW and awards such as Business Woman of the Year and Team of the Year making a return, the evening will showcase the diversity of business women across the region.

Alongside the well known categories, an award for Excellence in Sustainable Development has been added to reflect the achievements businesses have made in this area over the last few years.

Donna said: “We have added an Excellence in Sustainable Development award as we want to try and recognise all the green initiatives that are taking place across the Highlands.”

The title sponsor for the 2022 Highland Business Women Awards is the Springfield Group, who are looking forward to celebrating business women across the region.

Springfield Group chief executive Innes Smith said: “Across the Springfield Group we recognise the importance of celebrating the achievements of local businesses and are pleased to offer continued support to the Highland Business Women awards – this year as the headline sponsor.

“Within the group, Springfield Properties and Tulloch Homes are both actively building quality homes and creating fantastic sustainable communities across the Highlands.

“Inverness and the Highlands offer great places to live and work and we are proud to be driving the delivery of housing of all tenures and key infrastructure to support its growth.

“Just last year we effectively closed our own gender pay gap and we continue to be proud of the culture we create which enables everyone to thrive.

“We’re excited to celebrate other achievements across the Highlands, of which we know there are many from local businesses and the important third sector.”

Applications for nominations will open on June 19. For all the details, visit https://hbw.scot/awards
