Tesco help out Aviemore Gala Day
Visitors to the Aviemore Gala Day - organised by the village’s Legion Scotland branch - will have the chance to win a 49 inch smart television courtesy of the Tesco store in Aviemore.
The store on Grampian Road is supporting the event this Saturday by donating the television for the raffle, tombola prizes and onions and ketchup for the burger stall.
Colleagues from the store will also be lending a helping hand on the day by volunteering as marshals.
Store manager Robert Macmillian said: "We are delighted that we are able to support the Legion Scotland Aviemore with the Gala Day, they do such a fantastic job with the event and are a huge part of our community."
The event was revived last year after 20 years and offers fun for all the family with games, face painting, craft stalls, a raffle, a tombola and a barbecue.
Rhonna Minard, from the Legion Scotland Aviemore, was thrilled to receive support from their local Tesco.
She said: "We were really pleased when Tesco got in touch to see if we needed any help with the Gala Day, we advised them that we needed onions and ketchup for the burgers and hot dogs, a main raffle prize and tombolo prizes and they were more than happy to assist.
"Visitors who would like to enter for the chance to win the 49 inch television can do so purchasing a raffle ticket from behind the bar in the club now."
Mr Macmillian added: "We are really looking forward to helping out at the Gala Day on Saturday and we hope to see some of our customers there."
