Weather warnings in place for strath

As temperatures plummeted in the strath to as low as -16C today, the Met Office maintained its yellow weather warning for snow and ice for the next three days.

This morning's Highland winter road conditions report, issued at 7.33, reported mainly dry roads, with some frost and ice patches.

"All routes being treated this morning with priority given to primary and secondary routes.

"No known overnight issues.

"Driver caution advised on all routes."

On neighbouring Inverness roads the conditions were the same, mostly dry with high salt levels.

The weather forced multiple school closures around the Highlands but once again Badenoch and Strathspey escaped the shut-down.
