Aviemore Parkrun celebrates a 'ton up' for Susan
Today's superb conditions saw a "wonderful run and walk" at Aviemore's 175th Parkrun event – and it was an extra special day for one entrant celebrating her own 100-up.
Veteran runner Susan Lindgren popped a bottle of champers to mark the special celebration and won the approbation of the other runners, with run director Pete Wright acknowleding "It's certainly some achievement!"
There were 47 people on today's outing, choosing either to run, jog or walk the course (it' not a race) and among them were 15 first timers, with nine different clubs represented.
A total of seven new personal bests were recorded. and 7 recorded new Personal Bests.
The event was made possible by eight volunteers: Eleanor McNicol, Allan Martin McNicol, Pete Wright, Katie Hanson, Martin Wares, Bill Dewitt, Dawn Cranston and Sue Oxley.

The female record is held by Morag Millar (17:05), with Tom Martyn taking the male honours with his 14:57 from January 2020.
The first even was run on May 6, 2017. Since then 5,238 participants have completed 12,029 parkruns covering a total distance of 60,145 km, including 1,636 new PBs. A total of 210 individuals have volunteered 1,608 times.
