Shocking state of A9 layby at picturesque Badenoch village
A local resident has sparked calls for more action alongside the A9 by showing the rubbish left by just one stop beside one quiet Badenoch village.
Social media posts are pointing out that as the tourist season picks up, so should motorists and their passengers.
Chairman of the local community council, Ruaridh Ormiston, told the Strathy: "The A9 layby below Raitts Cave above Lynchat is in a disgusting state and local councillors need to take some action."
He had just been alerted by the pictures of rubbish and human deposits posted on social media by Chris Renton.
"I'm just back from a dog walk by the Lynchat public toilets..."
This was an ironic reference to the A9 lay-by and a right mess just above the village.
"There are public toilets in Kingussie and Aviemore," said Mr Renton.
"There is just no need for this stinking mess."
His short video shows how the latest mess is building up on the thin bank which separates the A9 from the 'old A9' just below, as the traffic passes blissfully unaware along the B9152.
