Carrbridge pupils get a dream chance to dook ‘Miss’
A Strathspey head teacher has bravely taken the plunge to help get clean water to those who desperately need it in the world.
Clare Lake let pupils at Carrbridge Primary School soak her for the cause as they joined staff and parents in raising an impressive £550 towards the Rotary Club of Spey Valley Aquabox Appeal.
Following a presentation to pupils by Club President Tony Burley and member Alan Rankin the school committed to undertake fundraising to purchase equipment for less fortunate children living in crisis areas.
Mrs Lake said. “As part of our eco school journey we had a water day where all pupils from Nursery to P7 came together to explore water as part of science technology, hygiene, food preparation and art.
“At the end of the day pupils were invited to donate money to see me have water poured over me…”
The pupils were very keen and with extra donations from local business raised £550 for 2 Aquabox and a community box.”
Mr Rankin added. “The equipment supplied will provide hundreds of people with safe clean drinking water. This has been a magnificent effort by all at the school that will make such a difference to so many people”
The Rotary Club continues to raise funds for the water filters. Donations can be made on Just Giving at www.rcsv.org
