Dream on if you’re waiting for snowflakes but there’s white stuff in Badenoch and Strathspey

Whiteish Christmas? Looking across to the Glenfeshie vestiges of snow on Christmas Day.

So how white is your Christmas?

While no flakes have been seen to fall today in one of the warmest December 25’s for years, there is plenty of snow to be seen - for the dedicated snow searchers!

It seems that with the temperature rise and the winds the snowline did all it could over the last week to retreat beyond sight in most of Badenoch and Strathspey, at ground level at least, but as some social media observers have pointed out there is plenty of the real white stuff up on the hills.

Some claim that, technically, the strath has enjoyed another white Christmas, with some hardy patches still to be seen even on the lower, more sheltered western side in the Monadhliaths.

Let the great debate begin!

If anyone did manage to make a snowman anywhere between Dalwhinnie and the Slochd do let us know!

Meanwhile, the Strathy wishes everyone a peaceful and enjoyable Christmas Day.
