Views on Highland bus timetables sought
New bus timetables planned by Stagecoach North Scotland are coming under scrutiny.
As the Strathy reported last week, concern is growing over the prospect of hospital and health centre visitors being left short of their destination at Grantown.
A Highland Council spokesperson said: “This change to new draft timetables has been agreed by Stagecoach with the Council. The change is to formalise what is currently happening in that Stagecoach are not serving Castle Grant.
"Before agreeing to the change, the council asked Stagecoach if they have had any negative comments since they stopped serving Castle Grant and they informed the council that they have not.”
Local councillor Muriel Cockburn said: "I do not wish any of our residents to be placed at a disadvantage once the new hospital facility opens. I will pursue this matter with my colleagues."
Now the company has launched a wider review into all their planned schedules, due to come into effect from Monday, August 10.
"All feedback received will be reviewed ahead of the final timetables being submitted for registration," said managing director David Liston.
“Our plans to revise our network in August follow a thorough analysis of the performance of our bus services and also take on board feedback from our customers, stakeholders and staff. All feedback helps us ensure we have optimised departure times and routes and would be grateful for all comments by Friday 28th June 2019 either via email or in person at one of the events we will be hosting or attending.”
The strath's nearest is Inverness Bus Station tomorow morning (Thursday) from 10am to noon.

Stagecoach representatives will also be available next Thursday at Lochardil Hotel, Inverness, 14:00-15:30 and again at the bus station, same day, from 4pm to 6pm.
