A very special Aviemore Parkun

This weekend's Aviemore Parkrun was a centenary affair for one dedicated partcipant.

John Wilmt, of Falkland Trail Runners, celebrated his 100th run on Saturday morning (February 1) with a personal best to treasure.

He finished in 23:15 to claim 24th place.

Another special – a golden one – was marked by local lass Brenda Paul, who celebrated her 50th Parkrun in '80s style with several of her friends.

It was the 141st running/jogging/walking of the event and it attracted no fewer than 85 participants, 25 of them first-timers.

There were a dozen new PBs set, with representatives of 16 different clubs involved.

Again, it was all down to the sturdy local volunteers to see that things went smoothy.

Saturday's team were: Val Machin, Hilary Quick, Janice Cargill, Claire Rooney, Lynsey Whyte, Alice Bailey, David Machin, Sue Oxley and Ferguson Masson.

The full results and a complete event history can be found on the Aviemore Parkrun results page.
