New faces on Cairngorms National Park board





All the results have now been declared by returning officer Kate Lackie at the Cairngorms National Park Authority board elections.

The count, at Grantown's Craig MacLean Leisure Centre, was streamed live on social media channels.

There were no victory speeches.

The turnout overall was 36.5 per cent of the local electorate and the results were:

Ward 1 - Kenny Deans 472; sitting member Deidre Falconer 425; Graham William Beckett 202, Richard Jennings 97, Bonnie McGhie-Convery 72.

Ward 3 - Sitting member John Kirk 876, Declan Gallacher 618, Keith John Ballam 190.

Ward 4 - Sitting member Eleanor MacKintosh 252, Amy Culpean 105, Jock Edwards 36, Alexander Chapman Campbell 29, Anouk Kloppert 11.

Ward 5 - Paul Edward Gibb 195, Fergus Mutch 145, sitting member Peter John Argyle 99, Kathy Dale 88, Susan Ellen Stewart 85, Mark Bamber 84.

In Ward 2, uncontested candidate Lauren MacCallum was declared to be elected.
