Today marks the first ever International Macaque Day and, of course, there was plenty of monkey business,

To celebrate keepers at the RZSS Highland Wildlife Park by Kincraig treated the troop of 23 Japanese macaques to frozen protein balls and cardboard box enrichment.

A park spokeswoman said: "The three baby macaques that were born last year were particularly excited by their enrichment feed, which was made from seeds, nuts and yoghurt."

The macaques, also known as snow monkeys, also enjoyed cardboard boxes filled with straw, hay and tasty treats like wheat and mealworms.

A naturally inquisitive species, their foraging abilities came to the fore as the macaques rifled through the straw to get to their treats.
