Serial sex offender who struck in Aviemore given life sentence
A serial sex offender who struck in Aviemore among other areas in a chain of physical and sexual violence lasting more than 20 years has been given an Order for Lifelong Restriction for a catalogue of offences.
At the High Court in Edinburgh on Thursday (February 5), Patrick Savage Chinskie was given the lifetime order with a minimum punishment part of seven years in custody and was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register.
Chinskie was earlier convicted after the court heard evidence of the brutal offences he committed against seven women which began in December 1990 and continued until the end of June 2013.
Speaking after the sentencing, Procurator Fiscal High Court for the North of Scotland Andy Shanks said: "The jury has convicted Patrick Chinskie of a catalogue of serious, violent and sexual offences against a number of women who suffered at his hands.
"We would encourage victims of sexual crimes, whenever they were committed, to come forward and report them.
"They will be treated with professionalism and sensitivity by the police and our expert prosecutors and we will do all in our power to deliver justice."
