Highland pupils told to stay at home for another day as winter grip continues

It’s another ‘snow day’ for Badenoch and Strathspey schools.

This morning’s list of winter-hit closures is extensive through the strath and beyond, with many thousands of pupils affected across the Highland region:

Total closures:

Secondary schools: 23 (11249 pupils)

Primary schools: 112 (11530 pupils)

Special schools: 3 (185 pupils)

Nurseries: 85 (1707 children).

The Badenoch and Strathspey casualties for the second day running are:

Aviemore Early Learning and Childcare Service, Aviemore Primary.

Carrbridge Primary, Carrbridge Primary Nursery.

Deshar Primary, Deshar Primary Nursery.

Grantown Grammar School, Grantown Primary, Grantown Primary Nursery.

Kingussie High School, Kingussie Primary.

Newtonmore Primary, Newtonmore Primary Nursery EM, Newtonmore Primary Nursery GM.
