Search is on for best buildings in Badenoch and Strathspey
The search for the best buildings in Badenoch and Strathspey is drawing to a close.
Organisers are reminding architects and designers that this is their last chance to get involved.
Entries to the Highlands and Islands Design Awards, organised by the Inverness Architectural Association (IAA) must be in by Friday 25 April.
And the judges have reiterated that the awards don’t just focus on new buildings - they are also looking for examples of restored buildings, external spaces and innovation within the industry.
IAA president Peter McIlhenny said: “Good architecture and design enhances all sorts of projects regardless of size or budget and the Highlands and Islands are home to some fantastic examples.”
The awards feature a range of categories and include prizes for best new building, best restoration project and the best or most innovative use of timber.
Projects must have been completed within the period January 2012 to January, earlier this year.
Past winners of the awards include sportscotland's Glenmore Lodge extension designed by SMC Davis Duncan and the conversion of Rinour Steading at Blacksboat, Ballindalloch, by Dualchas Architects.
The awards are split into six regions covering a vast area from Shetland to Lochaber, from the Western Isles to Moray.
Shortlisted entries for the regional awards will be showcased at local exhibitions throughout the summer.
Regional winners then go forward to the main Highlands and Islands awards held in November.
The closing date for entries is Friday 25 April.
