Salmond installed as favourite by leading bookmaker for Badenoch and Strathspey seat
Could Salmond be on the Westminster and Badenoch and Strathspey menu?
A leading bookmaker has installed the former SNP leader at odds of 6/1 to become a minister in the lifetime of the next goverment following the Westminster election, in May next year.
And, should he stand, they have made him favourite to take the Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey from Lib Dem big hitter Danny Alexander.
"We think Mr Salmond is likely to stand for the Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey constituency - and we are quoting the SNP at 2/5 to win the seat," said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe,
'If the General Election outcome is as close as many are predicting there must be every chance that Mr Salmond could find himself part of a coalition government.'
The odds offer:
ALEX SALMOND TO BECOME MINISTER IN NEXT GOVT? - 6/1 (stakes refunded if does not stand at General Election).
TO WIN INVERNESS, NAIRN, BADENOCH, STRATHSPEY CONSTITUENCY: 2/5 SNP; 11/5 Lib Dems; 11/1 Labour; 125/1 Conservatives; 150/1 UKIP
