Badenoch RSPB hide to rise like a phoenix from the ashes
Here's how things are looking at Insh Marshes, with the RSPB preparing to open a brand new hide to replace the one which was destroyed in a terrible fire last year.
And they're looking for help to celebrate the occasion this summer.
"We want people's memories," said a spokesperson for the charity which has brought untold thousands to the Kingussie nature reserve on the Spey.
Here's the link where all bird lovers can submit their memories.
There will be a community celebration when the new lookout opens later this summer to coincide with the 50th anniversary of RSPB Scotland Insh Marshes National Nature Reserve.
Date and details will be announced soon.
On June 15 2022 Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to attend fires at the RSPB Insh Marshes nature reserve in the early hours.
The service was alerted after a wooden lookout tower at the reserve had caught fire with smoke visible from outside the reserve.
