Badenoch and Strathspey cheers the new King
The strath has now officially been told the news.
The area's official proclamation of the new King was delivered this afternoon at Kingussie's Gynack Gardens.
A large number of people were welcomed to the war memorial by Deputy Lieutenant Fergus Laing, who asked Highland Councillor John Bruce to deliver the proclamation that:
"...the Crown of the united kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is solely and rightfully come to the Prince Charles Philip Arthur George..."
The affirmation came from the lords, the commons, privy council and others that "we do now hereby with one voice consent of tongue and heart" that Charles is, by the death of "our late sovereign of happy memory, become our only lawful and rightful rightful liege lord Charles the Third..."
Three hearty cheers endorsed the proclamation before more flowers were laid at the garden of remembrance laid out at the memorial.
