Last tickets are available - at the door - for tomorrow’s unique appearance of His Majesty’s Royal Marine Band Scotland in Aviemore.

“There will be plenty lovers of good music there to enjoy this incredibly rare occasion,” said organiser Stewart McNeish, “but for late bookers we will still have some seats available for them if they turn up in time at the Macdonald Aviemore Resort’s superb auditorium.”

It’s the first time a full military band has performed in the strath for as long as anyone can remember, but Mr McNeish pointed out: “Although just about the best military band there is, they will not simply be playing military music - there will be a full pageant on the bill.

“And it will all be done in the name of several good causes, in partnership with the Rotary Club of the Spey Valley.”

The concert will be in aid of Chest, Heart and Stroke, Climb to Recovery, a service charity assisting our service personnel who have lost limbs in recent conflicts or are suffering from PDSD, as well as other worthy causes.”

The Royal Marine Band Scotland are currently based in Rosyth and are one of the five bands that make up the musical wing of the Royal Navy by boosting troop morale, supporting international diplomacy and paying tribute to their comrades.

“We would like to see as many people as possible come along and enjoy an evening of musical pageant with the Royal Marines and the Corps of Drums under Captain Ann Miller, the Bands Director of Music.”

Pre concert drinks will be available and the audience will be able to mix and mingle with members of the band in the interval.

There will also be a live prize draw.

Doors open at 6pm for a 7pm start.
