Royal Bank of Scotland officially re-opens its £2.5 million Inverness branch
Royal Bank of Scotland has officially re-opened its Inverness branch, following a £2.5 million investment.
Based at Falcon Square, transformation of the flagship branch has created a modern, accessible and welcoming space, designed to better serve local customers and enhance the overall banking experience.
The redevelopment has also included the creation of a new programmes and events space which local groups and customers will be able to use for outside events.
The move forms part of a wider £10.5m investment in Royal Bank of Scotland banking across Scotland between 2023 and 2024.
Fundraising teams from Children’s Hospices Across Scotland joined RBS colleagues for the event.
Staff have chosen CHAS as their charity for this year, and it will see bank staff from across the country committing their volunteering hours or their own time to raise money or support activity for the charity.
The launch also saw staff recognised for their involvement in Royal Bank of Scotland’s new Financial Foundations programme.
The programme offers local businesses, colleagues and charities free classes to help them equip their staff with money skills and how to avoid issues such as scams or how better to budget.
The bank will be working with Inverness businesses throughout the course of the year to deliver the classes.
Judith Cruickshank, chairperson, Scotland board, Royal Bank of Scotland, said: “The transformation of our Inverness branch reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the local community by providing a modern, accessible space that meets their banking needs in a practical way.
“The new facilities that it offers means we can offer business, customers and communities access to new classes and services such as Financial Foundations and Moneysense – skills to improve their financial wellbeing and help them make the most of their money.
“We’re delighted that we’ve had CHAS here today to be part of our official launch. CHAS offers a lifeline for families in Scotland at a time when they need it most.
“Throughout the year, colleagues will be hosting their own local fundraising activities– some of them right here in this branch.”
