Roadworks to start on A95 near Boat of Garten
A section of the A95 by Boat of Garten is set to benefit from £385,000 worth of resurfacing improvements starting next week.
The works on the Aviemore-Keith road will begin on Monday (September 9) and are scheduled to take place over 10 days between 7.30am and 5.30pm.
All of the works are expected to be completed by 5.30pm on Friday 20 September.
No works will take place on Saturday or Sunday to avoid disruption to motorists over the weekend.
A 10mph convoy system will be in place during the improvements.
All traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.
Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative, said: “This £385,000 surfacing project has been designed to improve the general condition and safety of this section of the A95 for motorists.
“We’ve taken steps to minimise disruption by avoiding working at the weekend and by ensuring traffic management is removed outwith working hours.
"Our teams will do all they can to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.
“We thank motorists for their patience in advance while we complete these works and encourage all road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
He added: "All waste materials and spoil resulting from these roadworks will be re-cycled in accordance with Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) policies and procedures."
