Roadworks set for Laggan Causeway on A86
Essential culvert replacement works on a section of the A86 at Laggan Causeway is to take place.
The work will be carried out by BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland from next Monday.
A spokesman for the contractor said: "The new culvert will replace an existing stone drain that has collapsed causing some subsidence in the carriageway.
"Due to the nature of the works the A86 will require to be closed to all traffic between Laggan village and the A86 and A889 Drumgask junction to ensure the safety of road users.
The closure will begin next Monday at 7am and remain in place for around one week.
During the closure an alternative diversion route will be signposted via the A86/A889 and A9 via Kingussie.
Mr Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Operating Company Representative, said: “We do everything possible to minimise disruption when work is taking place but we have to replace the full road width on this occasion and a full closure is required to do that.
“We would ask drivers to pay attention to the traffic measures and temporary signage in place during the work and to plan ahead as much as possible before starting their journey."
