Record LeJog attempt already through the strath





Badenoch and Strathspey this afternoo witnessed a world record attempt on the fastest-ever Lands End to John O’Groats run on foot.

The effort, by a team of Army physical training instructors, is passed through the strath on the A9 today (Thursday) and by 5.30pm they were already past Inverness.

The team set off at 7am on Monday and intend to complete the famous course in less than four and a half days.

The 12-strong mixed group all serve with the RAPTCI – Royal Army Physical Training Corps Instructors.

The current record, of four days, 18 hours and two minutes, is held by FFJogle2016 (UK) and has stood some some six years now.

The team are covering 813 mile in aid of the Royal British Legion as thanks for the support they give both serving and ex-serving military personnel.

The mammoth challenge requires each team member to complete eight miles twice daily over four to five days at a seven minute mile pace with just five hours off in between running stints
