A mix of properties for social and mid-market rent will soon be available in Carrbridge.

They are part of the new Pinefield housing development.

The Highland Council has taken ownership of a number of properties from the contractor Tulloch Homes.

The five properties which will soon welcome new residents include: two two-bed bungalows; two three-bed bungalows and a five-bed villa.

Cllr Glynis Cambell Sinclair, housing and property chair, said: “I am delighted to see the completion of these lovely homes, which are a welcome addition to the Badenoch and Strathspey area.

“This development is one of many currently in the works which help to demonstrate our priorities and commitment to increasing the supply of affordable housing in Highland.

“I would like to express my thanks to our staff and our partners who have worked very hard to see this project through to its end.

“I wish the very best for the future residents in their new homes.”

A further six properties will be managed by the Highland Housing Alliance. The six mid-market-rental properties comprise of four, two-bed flats and two, three-bed villas.

Gail Matheson, CEO at HHA, said: “Carrbridge is an important community within the Highlands and HHA is proud to deliver a selection of much-needed MMR homes here.

“Our properties will be attractive to a range of demographics, with well-priced and high-quality flats and family homes available.

“With the ongoing shortage of homes available across Scotland, it is important that we work collaboratively with partners to deliver mixed tenures of properties.

“This is critical to the economic success of local communities, particularly in rural areas where larger housebuilders are often absent.
