Raigmore Hospital’s ward 3A reopened last night following a deep clean after a norovirus outbreak.

Wards 7C and 5C remain closed to new admissions and visitors. The total number of patients affected by the illness at the hospital remains at 51.

A spokesperson for NHS Highland said norovirus was still very active in the community and asked those with symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting to refrain from coming into the hospital until 48 hours after being clear.

The spokesperson also highlighted the importance of hand hygiene for those coming to the hospital.

Visiting to unaffected wards remains open but is limited to two per patient.
