Highland Council's road condition reports for today confirm dry roads in the strath but with temperatures remaining low the main roads are being given a precautionary salt treatment.

In the surrounding Inverness areas this morning's report, issued just before eight o'clock, refers to some light snow showers but surface temperatures were said to be rising quickly.

The information provided is a summary of reports from operational staff: "It is not intended to imply that any individual route is entirely snow and ice free and drivers must be aware that conditions can change rapidly and make their own assessment of conditions for travelling."
