Potential lengthy diversions on A95 because of overnight closures next week by Advie
Motorists are being warned of potential long diversions next week because of overnight closures to the A95.
Amey is carrying out surfacing improvements on the Grantown-Keith carriageway near Advie from Monday.
The £210,000 project, which Amey is carrying out on behalf of Transport Scotland, will address defects on some 620 metres of the road between Advie Mains and 140 metres east of Airdbeg Cottage.
The works will run until the following Tuesday (October 1).
An Amey spokesperson said: “To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures of the A95 between 7.30pm and 6.30am during the work period.”
There will be no overnight works on Friday September 27 and Saturday September 28.
All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on October 1.
A signed diversion will be in place.
Northbound traffic will leave the A95 at the A939 through Grantown- and continue to turn right onto the A940 at Dava, following to Forres before turning right onto the A96 and continuing to Elgin and taking the third exit at the roundabout onto the A941 to rejoin the A95 at Craigellachie.
Southbound traffic will take the route in reverse.
In addition, amnesties to allow traffic through the works area will be available at 8.30pm, 9.30pm, 10.30pm, 11.30pm, 1.30am, 3am and 5am each night.
Traffic will only be allowed through one direction at a time so delays are possible.
All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
