Popular Newtonmore visitor attraction to re-open soon
The Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore is due to reopen later this month, the operators have announced.
The free attraction has yet to re-open following its winter closure because of the coronavirus outbreak.
The folk museum will be open every Wednesday to Sunday from 10.30am to 4pm and visitors will need to pre-book their visit online via its new new booking system required as part of Covid-19 guidelines.
Lesley Junor, High Life Highland’s operations manager for the folk museum, said: “Our bounce-back campaign will see the museum reopen and ready to welcome customers on July 29.
"We will move forward in a gradual and controlled manner in a way that will allow us to learn lessons as well as assess and adjust our safety procedures along the way.
“Regular visitors will notice some changes when they return to the folk museum, for example, having to pre-book their visit along with all catering provision being located outside in our newly set up picnic garden.”
Sportscotland’s national outdoor training centre Glenmore Lodge has also announced that it will reopen on August 31 and staff are “working hard behind the scenes to prepare the centre”.
