Police are appealing for sightings of Strathy reporter Clive Dennier who was reported missing this morning.

Mr Dennier, (50), was due to work at the newspaper's Grantown office but failed to turn up.

Police believe Mr Dennier had spoken about going hill walking at the weekend but no one has heard from him since.

There is no information about where he may have gone, although he is known to enjoy walking in the Cairngorms as well as on the west coast.

Mr Dennier drives a silver Volkswagen Polo, registration number SX54 CXD, which has missing wheel trims.

Strathy editor Gavin Musgrove said: "Everyone who knows Clive is very concerned by his disappearance as it is completely out of character.

"He would have made every effort to let us know he is safe and well.

"All those who care so much about Clive would ask for anyone who may have seen him or his car since he finished work in Grantown late on Friday afternoon to contact the police."

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101.
