Police appeal following danger caused by speeding high performance motor in Inverness
Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses to an incident which involved a high performance motorcar being driven dangerously and at high speeds through Inverness today (Monday).
At around 12.15pm this afternoon, a blue BMW Coupe was witnessed being driven at speed from the South Kessock area onto the A9 southbound and then onto the A96 last seen heading east towards Nairn.
The vehicle was later traced in the Balloch area.
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed this vehicle being driven along these routes to contact them.
A police spokesperson said : "As it was lunchtime, these areas were busy at the time of the incident. We have already been contacted by a number of witnesses but if anyone saw this vehicle being driven today and they have not already made contact with us, we would urge them to get in touch.
"We are also looking to trace a man in connection with this incident. He is described as around 6’2" in height, of muscular build, clean shaven, with short dark hair and speaks with a Liverpool accent.
"When last seen he was wearing a light blue T-shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms. He may have information that could assist us with our enquiries.
"If anyone has seen this man or has any information about him or this incident, they are asked to contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
