Police are keen to trace owner of female Staffordshire Bull Terrier found near Slochd Summit at the weekend.

Officers found the dog which was unaccompanied at the side of the A9 at the pass in the early hours of Sunday.

A force spokesperson said: "Police in Aviemore are keen to trace the owner so they can reunite them with the dog which appears to be a female Staffordshire Bull Terrier-cross which is mainly black in colour with a white chest."

The dog has been temporarily housed at local kennels.

Anybody who may recognise a dog of this description is asked to contact the Police on 101.
