A Kincraig podcaster is providing some 'wintspiration' to help locals cope with the long winter nights that lie ahead.

The series, broadcast on the Big Juicy Creative podcast by Suzy Bashford, will feature a raft of inspiring experts from the strath and wider Cairngorms who will give practical tips on thriving in winter.

Writer, speaker and performer Suzy said: "I've been feeling quite down about the prospect of a long, cold, dark winter and I think lots of people are, so I'm doing a 'wintspiration' podcast series to help our collective well-being.

"November is a difficult month at the best of times, regularly ranking highly in Google’s ‘misery index’, let alone during a global pandemic.

"The way people approach winter psychologically is proven to determine whether they thrive, or just survive, through it.

"So I've done loads of inspiring mind-changing interviews with local people in the Cairngorms and the new series kicks off this Sunday and is scheduled to run for at least a fortnight.

"Free resources will also be available from my website."

Amongst some of those to feature in the podcast are former Olympian and World Cup number one half-pipe snowboard star Lesley McKenna; Alice Goodridge, solo channel swimmer and founder of wild swimming adventure company SwimWild; Lauren MacCallum, TV presenter, author and campaigner to ‘Protect our Winters’; Beachbody exercise team leader Louize Macklin; whisky lover, blogger and reporter Federica Stefani; wildlife guide and ranger Duncan Macdonald and outdoor therapist Shona Macpherson.

As well as filling the nation’s ears with helpful creative advice for winter, those visiting www.bigjuicycreative.co.uk from Sunday will be able to get their hands on a free fridge poster to encourage positive thinking during the dark months.

There is a family friendly version and an adults-only naughtier version.

Suzy ‘married’ her podcast as a marketing gimmick for her last offering just over a month ago on creative women.

The podcasts enjoyed great success reached number two in Apple Podcast charts in the entrepreneurship stakes and number four in the business section.
