The A9 was closed on Thursday morning following an incident involving two northbound lorries at the Drumochter Pass near Dalwhinnie.

Several large metal pipes with tarpaulins attached fell off one lorry, and one of them went through the windscreen of another lorry at the driver's side.

The driver of the lorry was taken to Raigmore hospital by road ambulance with a shoulder injury. The incident occurred shortly before 7:30am and the A9 was partially re-opened within the hour.

Police said no arrests had been made and enquiries into the circumstances of the incident were continuing.
